September 11-15

Here's What's Happening...

ELA:  This week we will practice our routine of mini lessons and station work. We will start writing "I wonder" statements as well as start some new topics such as questioning, close reading, and writing an extended response while using text evidence to support your writing. We will work together in station work during teacher time and I will also rotate to different stations when possible. 

Social Science: We are trucking along in our Chapter 14! We will continue our section of elements and the periodic table and end the week with states of matter. 

Ms. Gari's Math Class: We are moving along in unit 6. We have done very well in stations and working in small groups and independently. We will continue to practice our work in stations and explore more topics of unit 6 including what a hierarchy is, types of triangles, quadrilaterals and other shapes and properties. Tuesday we will be taking our first checkpoint quiz to see how students are doing with the topics we have covered so far.

Important Info...

Magazine Kick-Off
On Monday, students will attend the Magazine Sales kick-off event.  This is our first PTO fundraising event of the year, and I hope that you will be able to help raise some money for the amazing things that are happening in our district!

    Here are a few pictures of a fun activity we did last week called "Visualizing Across the Divide". Students described a picture with extreme detail and the other partner drew the picture with the details described.
