April 16-20

Here's What's Happening
English/Language Arts: We are starting a new unit in ELA this week! YAY!! Our new unit is entitled Hardships in History.  We will also continue working with verbs and List 7 word work words.  Students will also be finishing up their Natural Disaster project this week.

Social Sciences: We are finishing our "mini-chapter" in Social Studies. We will just be discussing Chapter 6 Lessons 1 and 2, focusing on colonial jobs and economy, and moving into Chapter 7 next week. We will only have reviews for these lessons and then the Trade Fair. For the Trade Fair, students may not make any food products.  Second, the products must be homemade, mostly by the students.  Third, they can bring as many or as few products as they want - but they must be able to make at least one trade! I'm really looking forward to seeing all of the different products!

Ms. Gari's Math Class: We will only have math class on Monday, Thursday, and Friday of this week. We will start off the week with our first checkpoint in Unit 4 which focuses on using the Multiplication strategies shown in the previous problem strings (ratio tables, break apart, multiplying by fractions and decimals, etc.). We will continue working on these strategies on Thursday and Friday as well.
